From Stephen to Avenham 5pm show
This event has passed, but you can still view the details
Two countries, two stories, two parks. Come and be part of this once in every 20 year happening. First join us in Gisburn Forest, Forest of Bowland, for a curious event deep in the woods and hear hidden stories, old and new. Then find us again on a journey in Avenham Park, Preston where all the stories come together. Involving music, storytelling, local heritage, food and some hidden surprises along the way.
Suitable for all ages but do come prepared to take a walk in the woods.
From Stephen to Avenham is the creative vision of Dutch locationtheatre company PeerGroup, supported by Lancashire-based Culturapedia, and is a “Made in Preston” Preston Guild 2012 commission.

From Stephen to Avenham is a project two years in the planning. Commissioned by Preston Guild as a “Made in Preston” commission, Dutch locationtheatre company PeerGroup have been exploring Lancashire with the support of Lancashire-based Culturapedia.
Drawing on the history of the Guild when traders came in from distant parts to trade and celebrate, the project links groups from the Hodder Valley and Preston via the Hodder River and River Ribble. Young people will work to create two human scale theatrical maps which will form a performance showing their lives through images, food, music and storytelling. Putting young people’s lives from rural and urban Lancashire firmly on the map.
